Once A Duppy, 2018

Now you see it, now you don't. This is how i feel with what the council has been doing to one of the many places I have called home. How the shutters that was calls to so many kids telling them the corner shop was closing for the day are now disappearing, fleeting and never returning - like, it was almost magic. The old Caribbean women who lived on the high road speaking to allies and life long friends are now depleting, fast. getting rid of the old and made anew, somewhere/something/ someone being commodified. Rubbing salts in our wounds when we are already healing from the one's still fresh. Necromancer is a documentation project looking into ethnic cleansing and the impact the real estate has on communities such as South Kilburn.
